Week 11, Term1

On Thursday morning we had a special guest come to speak to us about ANZAC Day. He wore an army uniform and had special badges pinned to his jacket. We made a wreath to place in the horseshoe to show our respect for those who lost their lives in the war.

During ICT this week we had a look at some really fun Easter games on Renwick Two's blog.

Judy had a problem in the office and we decided to help her out. She was about to order some new homepacks but was unsure what colours to order. We conducted a statistical investigation to find out which colour was the most popular. It was clearly pink! This might be due to the fact we have 11 girls in our class and 8 boys.

Have a happy and safe holiday!

Week 9, Term 1

This week we had our Kowhai Assembly in our classroom. It is a special time when we celebrate our successes together and have some giggles too!

This week at Discovery time we were busy making rocket ships with some old sheets. Some were more luxurious than others with mattresses and cushions!

Next week...

Our sounds will be f/b.
Our tricky words are no/down.
During maths we are working numbers with 5 up to 10.
On Monday we are off to the Museum to view an exhibition called 'Starting With Plants' which showcases some of the special qualities of plants. We will leave school at 9.10am and return around 10.30am.
On Tuesday afternoon we have a scooter safety skills session. Although the instructors will bring some scooters it would be helpful if your child could bring their own if you they have one. Please bring it to the class in the morning and we will store them in Renwick House.
As the cooler days approach us and you are considering purchasing shoes for the winter can I please encourage you to select shoes that your child can independently put on and take off. Often we have to take our shoes off to enter the class as the grass can be muddy. As you can imagine it is very time consuming for me to have to tie laces for a number of children. Thank you for yor understanding.
Have a happy and safe week!
