Week 6 Term 3

This week was our last week with Ben and FUTSAL. We had a great time. Ben was very impressed with our skills!

On Wednesday Jane came to see us from The Department of Conservation to talk to us about the Great White Butterfly. We found out that this butterfly is endangering our environment and we need to get rid of them! Jane gave us some butterfly nets and some useful tips on how to catch them.

Next week....

During maths we will be reading equations.
On Thursday I will be away on a course and Michelle will be relieving in Renwick 3.
The School Community Group have reduced the price of our school cook book to $20. For each cook book that is sold the money will go directly to the class nominated. If you haven't got one I strongly urge you to buy one as they are fantastic. They also make great birthday, Christmas or even Father's Day presents!

Week 5, Term 3

This week we went to the Museum to learn about Maori Legends. We had a fabulous time. We made an octopus each using pipe cleaners! A big thank you to all the parents that came with us to help.

During maths we are working reading equations.
On Friday is the School Disco. This will be held at the Masonic Hall, 107 Nile Street. The entry is $2 and you can dress as anything that starts with 's'. For the juniors the disco will start at 5.30pm. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.

Week 4 Term 3

This week some of us had some fun breaking up some ice in the water trough! We tried using pencils to break it up to save our fingers from getting cold...but in the end we couldn't resist the temptation!

Friday Funday was a great day in to be inside or outside during Discovery Time. We have and will continue to be working on how to make positive comments to our friends. We want to ensure that everyone feels like their efforts and contributions are valued and respected.

During maths we will work on addition/subtraction.
On Tuesday we have our trip to the Museum for Maori Myths and Legends. We have our fingers crossed for fine weather this time! Any parents that can help please let me know.

Week 3, Term 3

On Tuesday we had sooooo much fun with P.J. Day! We came to school wearing our pyjamas. We thought it was crazy! Neroli made us a delicious morning tea. We had fruit kebabs, popcorn, crackers and hummus. After writing fantastic stories we even got a chocolate!

This week we had our first of four FUTSAL lessons with Ben. There were a few drops of rain but it didn't stop us from having fun and doing our best!

Thank you to all the parents that came to see me for parent/teacher interviews. It is always a privilege to share your child's progress and learning.

Week 2 Term 3

The Shoe Fairy has been! During the winter months when the grass is wet and muddy we generally have to take our shoes off before coming into the class. Luckily we have some super helpers in Renwick 3 who have taken it upon themselves to keep our area tidy.

We love to have a big of a giggle and some fun in Renwick 3 so on Tuesday we are planning to have a P.J. day. We can bring our favourite toy to school to share for news but it will stay in the class for the day.

Tuesday is P.J. dress up day.
Wednesday we start FUTSAL training . This will run each Wednesday for 4 weeks, half hour sessions.
