This week we were so lucky to have Peter, Isla's grandad, come into school to tell us all about bee keeping. We have been learning lots about bees in Renwick 3 but now we know even more! We particularly enjoyed looking at the smoker and your special suit. Thanks again Peter.
Next week we are having an Athletics Day on Thursday the 27th. It is a fun event where children will rotate around 5 different activities. The morning will finish with class relays. Parents and caregivers are welcome to join us to support the children.
Parent help is required for some of the activities. If you are able to assist please email Sheryll - sheryll@nelsoncentral.school.nz
If you area able to help you will need to meet next to the library at 8.45am on the day to attend a briefing.
Next week...
Caroline will be teaching on Monday and Tuesday in Renwick 3.
Our tricky words will be very/should.
During literacy we will be concentrating on those tricky capitals and full stops.
At maths we are adding and subtracting groups of ten.
Have a happy and safe week!
Kia Ora and welcome to Renwick Three's Blog site! Renwick 3 is situated in Renwick House next to the adventure playground. There are 20 friends in our class and our teacher is Neroli. We hope you enjoy sharing what we have been learning about. Please take time to leave us a comment.

Week 5, Term 4
We had a lot of fun this week with the dress ups at Discovery time. Some of us made our own costumes!
We have been working hard during Fundamental Skills with Jane. We are hoping to have our own athletics day very soon. Events will include high jump, long jump, hurdles, throwing and relays. More details will follow as they come to hand.
As we gear up towards the end of the year we are working very hard on our social skills. We are focusing on being kind to each other. As we start to 'wear out' we need to remind ourselves of the important things...our friends. We want everyone to feel happy and safe.
Next week....
Our sound revision is ch.
Our tricky words are their/ask.
During literacy time we will also be looking at the use of capital letters.
During maths we are looking at subtraction and working with groups of 10.
On Thursday we are lucky enough to have a guest speaker coming to talk to us about bee keeping. We are very much looking forward to this.
Have a happy and safe week.

Week 3/4 Term 4
Last week Kate came into our school to teach us some skills for playing cricket. We had lots of fun playing games, throwing, catching and hitting balls.
This week in Discovery Time lots of us made puppets to put on a show. We also had heaps of fun playing with the tunnel outside...which unfortunately is a bit worse for wear nowadays!!
Next week....
During literacy we will be looking at word endings and the 'igh' sound.
Our tricky words are now and night.
During maths we are working on basic facts (add/sub) to 10.
Please remember library books for Friday. We seem to have a growing list of children that are not returning their books weekly.
Have a happy and safe week!
