We have had a busy week getting back into our routines and catching up with our friends.

For P.E. this term we are lucky enough to have an expert come to school to teach us some fundamental skills. This is each Thursday afternoon.
We also have our annual cross country. Our training will begin in Week 3.

This week we started our Keeping Ourselves Safe programme. The unit we are doing is called 'What to Do - Me Mohio Kia Pehea'. The aim of the programme is to develop and strengthen children's skills to keep themselves safe and to encourage them to get help from a caring adult. For some of the lessons our friendly community Constable John will be assisting me to deliver the content. On Tuesday we will be discussing body parts and Wednesday along with Constable John we will be covering touch. We have started off learning the importance of knowing our address and phone number. Each week I will inform you of the content so that you can best support your child at home.

Next week....
Our sounds will be ay/ng.
Our tricky words are away/too.
During maths we are working with numbers with 5 and numbers that make 10.
On Wednesday the 28th of May we ahve a trip to the Suter for a drama and movement workshop. More details will come closer to the time.
A reminder for those children wanting to do Food for Thought need to have signed permission slips back to school.

Have a happy and safe week!
